He is an actor, dancer and director. Cornelius Baltus was born in Holland, graduated from the School of Dramatics (dramatic department), Ballet Academy in Amsterdam and School of theatre dance in Koln. He performed as a dancer in various ballet companies working in a modern dance style, and also performed in shows in the theaters of Aachen, Mainz, Koln and National ballet of Island.
For the first time he got to learn the genre of musical when participating in productions of musicals “Cats”, “Cabaret” and “The Phantom of the Opera”. While working in Vienna, he graduated from the vocal class of the Higher School of Music and sang one of the leading parts in the opera by E. Humperdinck “Hansel and Gretel”. Soon he was performing in leading parts in popular musicals “Hello, Dolly!” and “Kiss me, Kate!”. Being already an artistic director of musical productions “Joseph and the Amazing Dreamcoat” (1996) , “The Lion King” (2001) and “Chess” (2010), in 1997 Cornelius Baltus became a co-director of Roman Polanski in productions of “Tanz der Vampire” staged by him in many countries, and in 2009 he became a production director of the new Vienna version of “Tanz der Vampire”.
