The legendary musical by Gerard Presgurvic"Romeo and Juliet", which has won the hearts of millions of viewers around the world, is in St. Petersburg for the first time!

Almost twenty-five years since the Paris premiere, "Romeo and Juliet" is on the playbills of the best theaters in the world. And finally, a sensation: its characters will soon appear on the stage of the Theatre of Musical Comedy!

They were destined for each other by fate, but spent only a few days together and died, unable to survive the separation. "Romeo and Juliet" is the main love story of all times and peoples, interest in which has not waned for several centuries, and which everyone retells in their own way.

Based on the tragedy by William Shakespeare, the famous chansonnier Gerard Presgurvicwrote a musical in the early 2000s, after the premiere of which in Paris the world began talking about the French breakthrough in this genre. Individual compositions, released as singles, made Presgurvic's work famous even before the official premiere. In Russia, it was first presented on the stage of the Moscow Operetta Theatre and instantly won the love of fans of the musical.

The stage of the Theatre of Musical Comedy will present the Hungarian interpretation of the musical in a stage version and production by the famous director Kero. Unlike all previous productions, in this one the intensity of passions reaches a truly tragic scale, since the conflict between two influential families of Verona goes beyond the boundaries of legendary history. The director builds the narrative so that everyone in the audience asks the question: is the price of mutual hatred justified by such bloody sacrifices?
