The play "The Mousetrap" became the most commercially successful project of Agatha Christie. Until now, after the premiere in 1952 in the West End, it has been running without a break, marking the 25,000th performance in 2012. This is an absolute record for the number of impressions. And considering that today is 70 years since the premiere, and West End audiences are still being asked not to tell their friends who the killer is, this record will be doubled in the near future. Inspired by the genius of the queen of the English detective, in 2002 the composer Alexander Zhurbin wrote a work of the same name based on the plot of The Mousetrap, which became the most frequently performed work in the genre of “musical detective” (as the author called his work) on the Russian stage. Alexander Zhurbin: “It turned out to be a thing in which there is irony, and love, and comedy, and even a terrible terrible drama, murder. Everything mixed in one bottle into an interesting cocktail. And most importantly, there are eight amazing character roles for eight good actors with good voices, good looks.” On the stage of the Theater of Musical Comedy, the musical "Mousetrap" will be presented for the first time. |
